Introduction

80,000 people have witnessed it, 3,500 lights to bring it to life, a 65 voice choir in a floor to ceiling Christmas tree adds a little volume... The stage is set for the 2009 presentation of the Gift of Christmas. This year’s theme – Bethlehem

The Gift of Christmas featuring the Singing Christmas Tree and Home for Christmas Reunions is in its 11th year of production. This spectacular presentation features 22 dynamic musical sets of song, drama and dance, with over 3,500 lights timed and programmed to produce a truly breathtaking visual and acoustic experience. And not to be missed is the 65-voice choir standing in an astounding floor to ceiling Singing Christmas Tree.

Come share in the heart-warming "dream come true" experience of a family being reunited for Christmas. At each performance, you will witness a distant family member or special friend be flown in to surprise their loved ones sitting in our audience as we sing I'll be Home for Christmas. Please see the Home for Christmas section for more information on this year's plans as well as stories and pictures of some of the 75 past memorable reunions.

The production is a free event, however over the years donations have been accepted on behalf of local charities. Over $110,000 has been given to such wonderful organizations as Rogers House, CHEO, the Children’s Wish Foundation, and the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Support Program. Please see the Community Impact section for more information on this year’s plans to help build an orphanage in Ghana.

Over 250 volunteers will be working hard to bring you this special Christmas presentation. Join us for a hot chocolate after all productions with the exception of the afternoon matinees. You will also have an opportunity to sign up to be included in the Alpha Course taking place in January at Bethel Church.

Make this event a part of your Christmas tradition.
